1.             Meeting opened at 1.10pm at MLA Kezia Purick's Community Room, Coolalinga.

a) Fogg Dam equipment list – awaiting advice Ken Levy

b) Monsoon forest interpretive signage – Alan & Strider – in abeyance pending replacement of boardwalk

 

4.             Correspondence:  Out:

·               28 April, Heritage grant application for HD Rice Trail mailed

·               29 April, email to Ruchira Somaweera thanking him for his presentation at the 26 April meeting

·               8 May, email advising membership fees due

·               13 May, emails to P&W, Sydney U, Top End Native Plant Society, NT Field Naturalists and CDU seeking their support to be involved with the 2010 Fogg Dam Field Day

·               22 May, NT EnvironmeNT grant application requesting funding for the 2010 FD Field Day submitted.

6.             Humpty Doo Rice Trail
Awaiting grant application outcome. Date of announcements is not known.

 

8.       Aust. Post/Landcare Grant
a) PR plan - Leisa

            b) Purchase of equipment and tools – completed

c) Signage – presentation and discussion with Jane Moore agreed concept for finalization of design

d) Signage to be agreed by P&W and Traditional owners before printing.

e) Agreed to involve school, ie launch after school holidays, invite Minister Alison Anderson, and representatives from Australia Post, Landcare and Telstra Shop, Traditional owners and key tourism organisations.

f) Heather has commenced writing of final report .

 

8.        Telstra Shop Darwin and Winnellie Grant
$988.99 remains to prepare the entrance, repaint the container and landscape the surrounds, aiming to complete this before the sign opening. Heather and Jeremy are to meet Telstra Shop Darwin and Winnellie staff next week.

 

9.        Finance
Bank balance of $4102.64

 

10.      Field Day 2010
Proposed date 11 April 2010. Application for an EnvironmeNT grant of $5150.00 submitted on 22 May. Outcome expected late June.

 

11.      Donation Box and brochure holders

            Agreed to seek two donation boxes from P&W, one to be mounted at the Middle Point sign and the other within Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. (P&W has offered one box. Alan to check with P&W..

 

12.      Wildfowl hunting.
Members are asked to report any media worthy information. Kezia Purick has sought information on shooting areas and permit management from the Chief Minister and plans a public meeting based on his response. 

 

12.        Membership renewal
It is now time to renew memberships. Fees are $25 single, $30 family, $15 concession/student. Leisa to advise members.

 

13.        Other business –

                        World Environment Day.  A group from CDU is planning this function at Lake Alexandra on Saturday 6 June 2009. Agreed we should look at displaying with Landcare and the East Point Friends.
