(b) Sign and wording The draft sign had been circulated and available for comment for 2 months. Feedback on alternative wording of the vision statement showed preference for the version without ‘but.’ Jan moved that the draft be accepted and that we ask P&W to erect the sign at the Fogg Dam car park. Seconded by Jenny. Agreed.
(c ) Monsoon Walk Jeremy advised that Parks plan to have the walk reopened as far the dismantled boardwalk by the end of May. At this stage there is no Parks or NT Tourism budget allocation for replacement of the dismantled boardwalk this year. NT Tourism has not been asked to provide funding. Discussions with Parks and Tourism staff indicate NT Tourism is willing to fund the purchase of materials (and might contribute to the cost of construction). Parks hierarchy seems worried about committing to ongoing maintenance costs. Agreed that discussions continue with NT Tourism and Parks (Barry Scott) and Heather & Jeremy explore and initiate measures to move this issue forward. Noted that Jo is considering, as an individual, writing to NT News and Ministers.

Business Plan Discussion on the draft considered its life, timeframe for achieving goals, prioritisation of goals, possible future events, identification of groups to work with, publicity and achieving schools linkages. Actions include: - to incorporate prioriites and timeframe to business plan activities - consider holding an annual event to gain wide community support (cf Devil’s Claw weed festival) - identify and notify organisations (eg natural history clubs), etc with a likely interest in Fogg Dam of our existence and possibilities for research, etc, - provide input on Fogg Dam activities (walks, talks, working bees, etc) to community notices, eg ABC - arrange laminated guidance sheets for people taking self-guided Fogg Dam walks - build on experience of Arafura Games organisers to develop relationships with schools through gaining an understanding what works, what doesn’t. Jenny agreed to organise a meeting with a relevant person.
Jan moved that the business plan be accepted as a 5 year plan to be reviewed annually. Seconded: Jenny. Agreed.

Strider advised of a pre-Expo dinner on Saturday evening 2nd June at The Groove, Nightcliff, with Professor Ian Lowe as guest speaker. 12. Other business (a) Proposed project Barry Scott sent the following proposal for FOFD to consider. FOFD and the Aboriginal custodians revegetate the old pine forest that backs onto Workshop Jungle north east of the monsoon forest board walk. The pine and exotic timber forest has been almost totally destroyed by fire, termites and introduced grasses. It would be a good time to re-establish native forest trees in the area and help suppress the exotic grasses with native plantings. Members were very interested and want to get more detail from Barry. Other groups we may involve Include Greening Australia and Top End Native Plant Society. Heather and Jeremy to discuss further with Barry.
(b) Website maintenance Heather asked if anyone was interested in taking on responsibility for maintaining the website. It was decided to put this request out to all members. (c) Glyde Point 23 & 24 June. Strider informed members about a protest at this site east of Gunn Point at the mouth of the Adelaide River. It was once designated for preservation but has since been selected for development for heavy industry.
