GEORGE BROWN DARWIN BOTANIC GARDEN Self-guided walks Brochures are available from the orientation centre or from the historic Wesleyan Church. 1. Every tree has a story to tell. Primary path. 2. Self guided bird ID checklist. CHARLES DARWIN NATIONAL PARK Guided walk: Wednesday 1st, Friday 3rd, Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th, Thursday 16th July. Time: 9am-10.30am Meet at the picnic shelter. Mangroves, Middens and more. Join a ranger to discover there’s more to the mangroves than mud. Please wear shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting muddy. CASUARINA COASTAL RESERVE 1. Guided walk: Friday 26th & Tuesday 30th June, Friday 3rd, Monday 13th & Wednesday 15th July. Time: 9am for 1.5 hours Meet at Dripstone cliffs top carpark, Brinkin. Bushtucker Breakfast Coastal areas provide a range of resources like food, medicines and shelter. Join a Ranger to find out more about the cultural significance of this reserve. 2. Guided walk: Monday 29th June Wednesday 1st, Friday 10th, Tuesday 14th, Thursday 16th July Time: 9am for 1.5 hours Meet at Dripstone cliffs top carpark, Brinkin. Shifting Sands Come along and find out about the shifting sands, seasonal changes, the diverse habitats and inhabitants. LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK 1. Guided walk every Thursday and Saturday14th May to 26th September. Time: 10am for 1 hour Meet at termite mounds carpark. Termites Unearthed Discover fascinating insect worlds living in fire proof fortresses. 2. Slide Show every Wednesday night - 6th May to 30th September. Time: 7pm for 1 hour Meet at Wangi falls picnic area, (near the kiosk) Litchfield: a taste of the Top End. Bring along your picnic rug or chair and join a Ranger for a visual tour of Litchfield. TERRITORY WILDLIFE PARK There is an entry fee into the Park, but talks and displays are free. Please check the back of your Territory Wildlife Park map for daily presentations and talks or log onto www.territorywildlifepark.com.au for special school holiday programs and upcoming events. Tucker Time at the Billabong Time: 9.30am daily Meet at the Billabong Rotunda Have a go at hand feeding wild Barramundi. The NEW Oolloo Sandbar Time: 10.00am daily Meet at the main station. Experience hand feeding a freshwater whipray. Birds of Prey Displays Time: 11am and 2.30pm daily Meet at the Flight Deck. Meet the raptor inhabitants of the Park for a spectacular show of free flying birds. Different species of birds flown in each display. NITMILUK NATIONAL PARK (LEILIYN – EDITH FALLS) Slide Show Tuesday and Thursday evenings 30th April to 27th August. Time: 7.30pm to 8pm Meet at Leliyn (Edith Falls) picnic area. Bring a rug or chair. Jawoyn Country – the wildlife, the culture and the management. NITMILUK NATIONAL PARK (KATHERINE GORGE) Nitmiluk Visitor Centre has an interpretive display and an information desk where you can have your questions answered by a Ranger. GREGORY NATIONAL PARK 1. Slide Show Monday nights 1st June to 31st August. Time: 7.30pm for 1 hour Meet at Big Horse Creek camp ground. Beyond the Bitumen Travel from north to south on the big screen and experience the diversity of life and habitats in Gregory National Park. Bring a chair. 2. Guided walk Thursday mornings 4th June to 27th August. Time: 9.30am for 1 hour Meet at Victoria River access (turn off 300m west of Victoria River Roadhouse. Riparian Rambles Stroll down to the Victoria River through a river corridor that hosts some special wildlife. Bring a hat, water and binoculars. 3. Guided walk Tuesday mornings 2nd June to 25th August Time: 9.30am for 1 hour Meet at Bullita Homestead Cultural Connection Join us for a walk through the past, present and future and discover what happens when two cultures collide. Bring a hat and water. KEEP RIVER NATIONAL PARK Campfire Talk Wednesday evenings 3rd June to 26th August Time: 7.30pm for 1 hour Meet at Gurrandalng camp ground. Secrets of Keep River National Park Bring your questions, a chair or rug and a mug for billy tea. ELSEY NATIONAL PARK Campfire Talk Thursday evenings 14th May to 30th July Time: 7pm for 45 minutes Meet at Jalmurak camp grounds Roper Lifeline Water is life and the mighty Roper River supports a whole lot of life.
